Natural rubber was originated in China, thus it is also known as China rubber. Other name by which it is called is caoutchouc. It is basically an elastomer which is taken out from latex. There are lots of usages of natural rubber in various products and applications. Natural rubber is purified to get formed as chemical polyisoprene and it too is very useful in different applications. Usually these are very stretchy and flexible kind of but purely waterproof. Commercial purposes rubber is the para rubber tree that is one of the members of spurge family. There are so many plants by which you can get latex, but these plants are not the major source of rubber. At the time of World War II Germany used these trees for the purpose of rubber as it was cut off from rubber supplies. South America witnessed growth of para rubber tree. Rubber showcases exceptional chemical and physical properties. Mullins effect is something that is all about the stress-strain nature of rubber. There use to be double bond into each of its repeat unit and thus, natural rubber is receptive to ozone cracking. The two basic solvents get used into the rubber, are turpentine and naphtha. Turpentine is in use since 1764, when it was discovered. Naphtha came into existence as rubber solvent since 1779. Indian state abercrombie , like Kerala, has been witnessing upsurge into the rubber industry. The finest quality of rubber comes out from the state. But recent days, other state like Tripura is on the verge of overstepping its monopoly in the rubber industry. Recently, a major advancement into the rubber industry took place in the state where only the second rubber park in the country is all set to come up soon. The first rubber park in the country was built in Irapuram, Kerala. Worldwide a boom is taking place in the rubber industry. Demand is high and to keep up with demand various countries have started its production as well as export n high quantity. There are different products made up of rubber. Most of the sectors have got its usages. In the Automobile sector, tyres and tubes are the best examples. Apart from tyres and tubes, gloves for handle are also manufactured using rubber. Other products, which are manufactured by rubber, include Nbr, Nitryle Rubber, etc. These too have got different usages for many purposes. Into the medical field also, rubber comes handy for gloves and other products. In day to today life, footwear’s are made up of rubber to provide comfort to your feet. So, we see that rubber has got its use in different aspects and various sectors.
